Wine Advocate 92: "The 2012 Secateurs Chenin Blanc has a light but pure bouquet with lemon peel, grapefruit and hints of wet wool. The palate is crisp and vibrant on the entry with touches of lanolin and litchi nuts. This is so well balanced - uncomplicated but delicious. Drink now.

In fact, in the better vintages Anthony Hamilton Russell's property just outside Hermanus, a seaside tourist destination best known for its whale-watching, also produces South Africa's most complex pinot noir.

The 2007 version of this delicious Gruner was a Wine Spectator 93! The 2008 looks to be equally good as a vintage and the 2008 Allram Gruner certainly lives up to its past. The Wine Spectator said of the 2007: "This elegant Grüner has an intense minerality that is supported by a vibrant acidity. There's fine balance to the grapefruit, lentil and white pepper flavors, with hints of anise and savory herb on the precise finish." A magnificent buy!
